In my previous post I said Pacific Coast Auto doesn’t do dealer buys. It turns out this isn’t true which annoys me because I could have used them to buy this car. Probably would have just got it two weeks later. The only caveat is that they charge extra fees for doing that they normally wouldn’t.

I spotted this Viper ACR at the Chicago Ridge Mall when I visited the city to see Slayer this past weekend. Hope you enjoy it.

Even with “correction” in the title, putting Pacific Coast Auto up there next to Legal Action is something they’d probably you rather not do.

+1 to Dave’s comment

I did poke around on their website, as you’d recommended them, but apparently “no tire kickers” is a thing. Not super interested in paying (or free trial-ing) to see what’s available.

“Sorry Pacific Coast Auto” would probably work much better as a title.

Yep Derek is a good friend and often buys cars from dealers for customers... He secretly hates doing it as it’s a bit of a paint to deal with Japanese dealers though haha

You know how every time someone from some company that’s getting sued, when the press asks them to comment, they say something like “due to pending litigation, I’m not able to comment at this time”?

Idk what you are talking about. You can log into the auction database as a guest and see everything without paying. It gives the guest login on the site

Ahh OK. Looks like we’re both right. I didn’t click through to the auction site as it was heavily implied I’d need to register first. You are correct they have guest account credentials posted to view past auctions, which is sufficient tire kicking for me I guess. EDIT: Apparently you can view active actions too so... OK.

That doesn’t apply to customers who are effectively writing reviews of a company. Otherwise you wouldn’t see media reports on class action lawsuits for cancer and things like that

What I mean is, you as an individual are planning to bring legal action against this company. Posting about them in public could very well not hurt your case at all, but it has the potential to cause headaches for you in getting an outcome you like. Better safe than sorry is all.
